The Culture
ElkClan is very tight-knit with a "greater good of the group above the individual" mentality. The yearly wolf threat they have to face has made ElkClan very paranoid, and though they are proud, they are constantly suspicious of the other Clans and their intentions. The same could be said about outsiders joining the Clan. ElkClan is very distrusting of anyone outside the very closely bonded Clan. One cat often looks out over a hunting patrol, scanning the horizon for potential threats. Intra-Clan conflict is heavily frowned upon, and quarreling apprentices are forced to reconcile quickly as the bond you share with your clanmates is seen as your greatest strength. If you cannot trust each other, how can you fight alongside each other? Their young warriors' training heavily focuses on teamwork and building close bonds with their fellow apprentices. Rarely is a young cat taught alone; mentors often work together to ensure their young cats understand the importance of fighting, hunting, and living as one.
