CougarClan cats live high up like their namesake, providing them with vantage points to oversee their territory below; the camp takes up the side of a mountain outcrop, dubbed the camp; Ridge Camp. From a young age, cats are taught to navigate rugged terrain to avoid injury or death. There is a decent-sized 'camp center' about three cat lengths; all the dens are against one wall, with the more vulnerable cats living in dens closer to the leader's den. Sneaking into the camp is difficult because of the rugged terrain meaning there is typically only one guard. The camp is dangerous, with few escape points, kept secret by the elders. There are several emergency exits and in the event the camp must be abandoned the elders will lead them away.
